Because I can't bring a camera...

...into the pastry lab, and the Internet is a very useful tool, I figured I'd share some of the things I work(ed) on. Of course credits go to the sites where I found them!

Stuff from ADPA:

Coupe de Fraise and some macarons in the background. I swear if I ever see another fraise du bois again....

Chocolates from Jacques Genin, though these ones aren't perfectly straight and the ones I arranged were perfect. Trust me.

Stuff from the central patisserie:

Red Power, which is a financier topped with jelly, bavarois, and red flocked lychee chantilly.

Paris Montaigne, chocolate tart, lemon tart, and millefeuille.

Oh and that chocolate bar I took from work because it was a 'reject'? Its actually called: "Turron - Intense chocolate bar stuffed with hazelnut gianduja and crunchy chocolate pearls". The kicker? The hotel sells it for 45 euros. Ouch. I had to dust 60 of these suckers with metallic powder. Funtimes.

Interestingly, I saw a picture of Sarah Jessica Parker as part of the montage of pictures on the wall of the employee cafeteria. Turns out the hotel was featured in the episode of Sex in the City where she goes to Paris. Of course they don't tell you the suite that she's staying in costs 9,000 euros a night.
